Additional Death Benefit (ADB)

The funeral assistance (Additional Death Benefit), is an amount of money paid upon death of the member to assist with funeral expenses. The Additional Death Benefit is also payable to beneficiaries of member’s who die out of service within six (6) months of leaving employment. The Additional Death Benefit assistance was extended to former members (pensioners) of MIPF effective from 1 July 2010. This funeral assistance is reviewed on a regular basis and will only be paid to pensioners who died on or after 1 July 2010.
